Need a new starter

Has anyone tried a Powermaster Performance stater in their CTD? I need a new starter and ran across this:

http://www.powermastermotorsports.com/diesel.html

I am trying to decide what brand to use to replace the original.

Thanks.

Better off having the original Denso rebuilt. Most units won't last very long.

These folks build a good starter and alternator but they are pricey!

x2 I'd do the rebuild. This I where I'd get the kit: http://fostertruck.com/dodge/ (about half way down the page)

What makes you think you need an entire starter?

I just did the contacts in mine for under $10 and now it works like a charm

Had the starter rebuilt by local shop which included new contacts. Installed new battery cable from battery to starter. Problem still exists....starter turns slow and takes 2-3 trys before it will start. Truck runs fine once it starts. Guess it is time to order the starter. If anyone has any other ideas, I would be grateful to hear them.....Thanks.

I would have thought the rebuild shop would have spotted a problem with it if it were bad,try taking it back to them.

If the starter was rebuilt but has the exact same problem, pretty good chance it's something else...
You replaced the positive cable to the starter - that's good. How's the ground? Is the engine grounded to the batteries?

Went today and cleaned all the grounds from both batteries to the body and engine block. This seemed to fix the issue. Truck starts quick now. I am pretty sure the culprit was the driver side battery terminal.

Thanks for all the help.
