Need help! 97 12valve

Need advice on transmission issue... seriously about to buy a 97 12 valve that needs the following parts replaced
Solenoid #4617210 ------- $108.00,Transducer #56041403AA ---$88.7. what is the labor like for this fix? also, is this the motor and year range affected by the KDP issue? any and all help appreciated. I've only had the newer 00's and 01's and the bad lift pump/injection pump failures to deal with. beginner diesel mechanic here.

Not sure, but sounds like the gov pressure solenoid and sensor.

Easy cheesy, last one I did was under an hour being lazy.

And YES, fix that KDP..........

Use the KDP to your advantage. It isn't a deal breaker, unless it has come out and done damage. Otherwise, you can do it, and maybe get money knocked off the price of the truck.

thanks for the responses, it seems i am at a dilemna, the truck i'm looking at is out of state and the owner is unsure if the pin has been dealt with, or if it has ever come out. guess my only recourse is to travel to truck tear it open and peep the pin, at which time maybe i can haggle the purchase price down. it's a

2WD or 4WD?

If 4WD I would not try and drop the price, assuming it is reasonably nice otherwise.

yeah it's a 4WD, $5000 seems like a good price, and with 345k on it I would think the KDP would've wreaked it's havoc already if it hadn't been tabbed...

97 was one of the worst years for the pin fit to be loose. Its not worth leaving till later.
