Help, 12valve has the shakes, small vid.

Ooook. Heres the mods 0plate forward, 022DV's, 215injectors, 16* timing 3kGSK.

Just put in the 022's today, really like the increased throttle response and midrange pull but now it has an exaggerated shake at 1000rpm (the worst) and down to idle which you can hear but not feel. Above 1000rpm its nice and smooth. It's always had a bit of a twitch at 1000 but never this bad. Have ran 370's and 191's previously without hardly any shake.

Anyone have an idea why this shake became worse afte the 022's? I've always heard this twitch is a "160 pump thing" but never exactly why it was?

Here is a 2.9MB vid, the feel and sound is much more pronounced in person, if you watch closely you can see the intake horn wiggle around while the brake master cylinder remains still.

Can you put it on a tripod? I can't really see the "shake".

Dont have a tripod, not sure the camera is of high enough quality to capture it anyway. But take my word for it, the engien is rocking at least 1/2" back and forth.

Are you sure your timing is still set correct?
Govenor Springs out of adjustment?
Overflow Valve bad/fading?

Just some things that come to mind. Might try the 191 DVs back in and see if that smooths things out.

Sounds weird to me. Mine has a little lope, but not like what yours is doing. Sounds like your idle is high? What is it set at?

Thanks for everyones input.

The overflow valve is new, I've had the GSK reset a few times without any change in this vibration.

I havent rechecked the timing though, dont have the tools

The engine mounts "look" ok, I cant rock the engine with a 5' bar.

The vid is with engine at 1000rpm idle is around 700.
