mileage problem

I just got back from a trip on sunday with my dads 12 valve dually. I ended up spending a little more on fuel than i had planned. i was pulling a 26 ft goose neck and barely getting 8.5 mpg. I replaced the fuel filter and the air filter is fine. any suggestions would be great.
thanks alot!!

How did the truck run while towing? How much boost? If your running hard and towing heavy.....

That is a lot of boost for flat ground. Did you have a huge headwind or was it a really tall trailer or something?

Boy thats allot of boost for just cruising, were your trailer and truck tires all aired up? Maybe a dragging trailer brake? Hate to point out the obvious. How tall of a van? Was is loaded backwards?

nothing draggin and all the tires were fully aired. i was hauling a mini van loaded forward. i have no idea why it would be pulling so much boost. what should it normally be pulling for boost?
