I have a steering issue at idle in gear. It is horrible with the plow on. It picks back up if I tap the gas and get the Rs up to almost 8-900. It idles at 600-750 in gear when warmed up. What should the idle be in gear stopped? I don't mind changing the pump ,but I am not sure the idle is too low.

 

You're a little low, it should be 750-800 with the A/C on, in drive if an auto. N if manual.
Don't trust the tach, they are notoriously wrong, use your ear instead.
