lost 3-4 mpg. what happened?

my truck always got 20-22 mpg. recent trip had me sittimg on the side of the road, outa fuel. 2 things, 1 had the truck inspected and for some reason the shop plugeed into the connection at the dash and did a emmisions test?? never had that done before, not sure if he possibly screwed with something there, #2 new 2007 fuel, heard that I'll loose mileage, any thoughts? oh I got 16mpg, ran out, then checked it again, 16.7 driving a lil faster, 68mph.

I always drop some in the winter, but this year, what winter, up till two weeks ago, still a full 20mpg. all summer 21.8 to 22.2 with tst #8 kit.

not sure when the stations switched to the new fuel, but both tanks had it.

That was one of the 1st systems of what turned out to be my lift pump & overflow valve .
You should to to the user control pannel and fill in your truck sig. , easyer to give you an idea of what may be your problum .

Check your intercooler boots....take some starter fluid and while then engine is running spray around the edges of the boots to see if you have a leak anywhere.

With my previous and current CTD I've had to replace the pass side boot @ the intercooler @ around 140-150K miles or so.

Send it to yourself for not contacting your congress people in 1994 when the legislation was proposed.

overflow valve was replaced 10,000 miles ago, also fuel filter, valve was from tst. someone on this sight said it was a good one.(bosh) about the time I like to change fuel filter anyway, so thats a easy one, I have a fuel pressure guage, but no idea how to hook it up to this thing.

No need for the special tool, just remove the inlet banjo bolt, drill and tap a 1/8" pipe thread port on top.

the plug in thing is the OBD II inspection..... dont worry about the obd inspection as we (im a NH inspector) dont/cant do anything other than verify your CEL lights up when its supposed to and that you dont have and codes stored in the PCM that could effect the emissions of the engine. as inspectors we CANT DO anything you your computer when we plug in w/ the inspection computer. it just reads your obd II status and thats it.....
and where the hell in NH are you located...... im in greenville, yet work in manch..........
