innercooler boot

hi ya'll,

i just blew a hole in my driver side innercooler boot. no one else carrie's it, so i called dodge and they want $175 for a piece of rubber! they sure are proud of there part's. i found a site called mr. bob's. they sell a four piece kit with two boot's and the upper's. it's about $250 for it, and it come's with new clamp's. does anyone have these, or know about them? i talked to bob, he was a nice guy and helpful. also is there any other place to get these boot's? thank's for the help.

Also, if you had a hole in the drivers side check your fender sheet metal down next to the boot. When boot expands, and it does quite a bit, it hits the sheet metal and rubs a hole in the boot. I bent mine down into a curved shape away from the boot. No more rub!

Jegs has complete set with new clamps for about the same price (I think BD). I blew my original boot out of turbo just after my Edge upgrade. 6 years and no more leaks.

Get the new boots with better clamps, and make sure every thing is CLEAN when you put it back together. Use cheap hair spray to aid install and help seal the new boots. Make sure the torque on the clamp bolts is right, hard to tell by hand.

Straight hose won't work, it has to be a 3x4" - 22.5* elbow.
That makes them special and pricey.

they make one that's 4" to 3" with a 45* bend. would a 45* versus 22.5* bend limit the the flow any? i don't think it would matter much, but you never know.

I think you'll have a very hard time installing the 45* boot but could give it a try.
It's sort of hard even installing the right boot.
