high idle

high idle

Run away idle, goes up to 2000 rpm and slow to come down. I got 3k gov, 0 plate, 370's, what do u think. I losened the gov springs couple springs and it came back down. i dont know how they coulda got tight. thank you for any help

I can't help you with any advice, but you might consider re-posting this in the HELP! forum...runaway can be serious.

Or you could email/PM a moderator and have them move it.

Pump trouble

I'd get that pump into a shop right away. If the governor section goes away, your rack could go wide open with no way to shut it down. Something in there has changed, or it wouldn't have hung up. It also wouldn't have responded to your backing off the springs. Sometimes its best to let the pump specialists fix it. MHO, anyway...

thanks had a stumble at 1200 to 1500 rpm thought tighten gov.spring might help was fine for couple days,then rpm just off,loosened the springs coupleclicks,seems to be ok would like know if anything affects the idle, thanks
