Help! Washer fell inside AFC housing

Help! Washer fell inside AFC housing

So I took the plate out bout a year ago and I finaally made it a 0 plate and I went to put it in today and I dropped one of the washers into the housing and was unable to see or find it what should I do? Is it ok to leave in there or what will it mess up?

Gotta come out, I would say. Try a magnet yet? Might have better luck pulling the plug on the side of the pump and fishing around with a magnet in there. You can slowly bar the engine over untill there's room through that hole to have a look. Good luck.

Starting the engine will cause severe damage, it has to come out.
Do whatever it takes to get it out even if it means removing the pump and shaking it.

yes i did try a magnet and the motor has not been started since, what plug are you talking about removing and where would it be located? thanks

Pull the plug that holds the timing pin in. About a litre of oil will come out. Then take the back plate off the pump (the one to adjust the gov. arm) and fish through there with a small telescopic magnet. Once you get all the oil out, you can atleast see a little bit as to where you are fishing. The case itself is non-magnetic, but there are magnetic components inside the pump, so keep your magned down low.

Take a turkey baster or a cheap transfer pump and suck the oil out throught the afc hole.

You need to get pen magnet that is flexible. It will come out.
