Goerend Customer Service!!
Early this year I dropped my 47re to add a Triple Disc TC and Valve Body in preparation for some engine mods. I inspected but did not change any of the hoses that attach to the tranny hard lines, intending to do them later. A couple of weeks ago while pulling our RV home from a Florida vacation the short hose underneath the engine cooler let go. Unfortunately by the time I realized what was happening, the tranny was heavily damaged, we were dead on the road and still 600 miles from home.
I called Goerends shop, explained I had an emergency and they got me in touch with Dave. After helping me find the source of the leak (tranny fluid everywhere), he looked up the part number for the hose that had failed and found a Dodge dealer near me. I replaced the hose and lost fluid but the truck still wouldn't go, after a 2nd call to Dave for advice I dropped the pan for a filter change, found a stuck valve in the VB and the truck was again moving.
A third call to Dave (after business hours) and I had advice on how to drive the truck to give me the best chance to get home. The next morning we started home (no OD, limp mode and fingers crossed) and today I will pickup a full built Goerend tranny and install this weekend. The rest of my lines will be upgraded during the install.
I imagine the other well respected Dodge Diesel tranny builders also build a quality product but its hard to imagine they come close to Goerend for customer service. From my initial upgrades, to my emergency needs I have never been treated so well by anyone in the automotive repair industry. Without the help I received on the road, my truck and RV would probably still be 600 miles from home and my costs would have been much higher.
My advice is: Choose Goerend for your transmission needs and CHANGE YOUR TRANNY HOSES NOW!

Yet another example of Dave's excellent service. Fortunately for me, other than the buying experience, I've not had reason to call him up... my Goerends tranny has been working perfectly since day one.

I almost wish I had bought an auto truck just so I could have one of his great transmissions. Always nice to hear of a business out there that still cares about their customers though. Very nice.
