Getting sick of 1 Wheel peel!
I wanna get a posi, I have been reading on line there's a bunch of brands but I want one that will be good to tow with and be stout enough to play with. If you guys could give me some guidance and experance, it would be appreciated.
It sucks when you have to put it in 4 wheels drive to get out of your driveway when its dry.

Cheapest route would probably be to find a complete rear end from someone parting out a truck.
Towing isn't really an issue with ant posis that I know of, you're going straight 99% of the time anyway.
Other than that, most posis will do just fine if you're not into 4 wheeling. If you plan to go 4x4 much, I would ship the posi and go to a locker.

Hey flapper, this is just a thought but it happened to me so I'll share it with you. On my 1st gen 2wd as the mileage climbed I noticed that it wasn't pulling in the dirt as well as when I first got it. Fast forward to needing a repair due to an exploding spider gear. The spiders weren't available unless I bought an entire kit. Had the kit installed, including the new clutches in the rearend. When I got the truck back it would climb a tree it pulled so good. Is it possible you have a posi on the rear already and the clutches are just worn out?
Only time I am wheelin is when its muddy with a tralior and truck full of wood. I am kind of thinkin about the detroit locker, and the dana posi lock.
I am leaning towards a detroit, because you here alot of good and if I decide to really bomb the truck, it prolly the best to go with.

I have a detroit true-trac from randys ring and pinion for a D80 3.55. its the all gear driven posi. no clutches. they lifted the power input restrictions to it recently. So its supposed to hold up.

I'd look into a powelok as most trucks came with a trac-lok and they wear out at around 80k.
