Normal to peel one tire?

Hey all, I just wanted to ask the question if it is normal for my truck to only 1 tire peel. I don't know why they would have put an open rear (forgive me if that's not what it is, I'm not a huge gear guy) in a 2500 heavy duty truck. Is this normal? I saw somewhere on here that Dodge may have screwed up some trucks with which rears went in which?

Off topic, but supposedly I got a limited slip in mine until I jacked up both wheels and put it in gear. I stopped one wheel by hand and the other was still spinning.

I have an open diff in mine. Stupid to have it not be standard limited slip. I have one sitting in the garage, just waiting to have time to put it in.

So yes, it's normal.

Can I call Dodge to ask what was supposed to be in mine. I read a long thread that mentioned something about Dodge messing up and having a lot put in with open diffs when a posi was paid for. It's just so annoying to see my buddies with F-250's doing two wheel burnouts, and I can BARELY BARELY spin 1 tire with my 37's

Mine locks up posi most of the time, occasionaly on a rare occasion it will peel one. An old trick I learned a while back is if your are not hooking up posi doing a break stand role off the break and gas a little and let the vehicle roll a little bit and that usually gives it enough to lock the other tire in. Always seem to work on my duster.

I have the limited slip that some others have deemd as "worthless".. I left a pair of 625 foot lines the other night that are totally dark and it never one-wheeled on me at all. Yes we measured it. It was a little over 2/10's of a mile long. Just getting the undercoating redone on the fenderwells and rear frame with good fresh rubber...

That was with some 35x12.50 toyo m/ts... Off road may be another story but when both wheels have traction mine kicks ...

What options do I have as of a posi? I don't think I would need a locker. I don't ever off road the truck, and I tow here and there. This truck is really just my Daily Driver.

The funny things is they have 20k miles on them and still look pretty new.. I don't do a lot of burnouts but was showing a friend what she had the other day and did that.. Didn't seem to shrink em much, but lets just say there is a VERY thick coating of rubber all inside the wheel wells...

Cost too much to do that very much. Speedo was at like 118 in Overdrive and taching at 3200.. It burnt thru every single gear INCLUDING O/d.. I couldn't believe it.

I couldn't believe they put a open diff in my truck either. I just switched mine out 2 weekends ago and now it is 2 tire fire. I was tired of one wheelin everywhere and I was having trouble launching in 4 wheel drive at the dragstrip. Now it hooks up a lot better!
