Funny Turbo Noise HX35
few weeks ago i started hearing a new whining noise from my truck.
sounds like its coming from my turbo. it only starts whining at about 15psi+. i checked the intercooler boots, intake at the grid heater, and the play in the turbine shaft all seems to be good. i would normally just drive it til something broke but im heading to the west coast soon and dont want a boom half way there. any ideas that i havent thought of yet?

I've heard stock airboxes whine at higher boost if they have a leak around the sealing edge of the filter.
You can see a dust trail at the seal if that's the case.
Apply a thin bead of silicone grease to the seal to prevent it from leaking.
