funny noise at high speed????

Hey Guys, I need some input as to what is causing this problem. Here is the symptoms. First off 02 HO 24V CTD. Driving on Hwy at 100km everything sounds normal ( consistant rattle as normal ) All guages reading normal: O/P 65PSI, F/P 11PSI, RPM steady at 1800-1900 , Pyro:550-600. Cruise on, No load, Increase speed to 110 km then there is a distinctive rattle that comes and goes(loud then nothing) as soon as I decrease my speed to 100 its gone from the hearing aspect. My unit is still on warranty, but I would like to have some opinions before i speak with the dealership. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards

Would love to help you but need more info. Is the rattle a noise or vibration? Does it go away if you push in the clutch? Is it harmonic? Do you have the front axle vacumm disconnect system? Does it go away if you go faster and how fast are you going in mph?

Hey katoom, Actually I was out on the Hwy again this weekend,I thought maybe it was the cruise causing a surge in the engine. Turned off cruise, Sound still evident. To explain this again at 60 mph normal engine sounds evident. All gauges steady and normal. As soon as I increase speed to 70mph there is a distinctive sound pattern. I'll try to explain it, It sounds like the engine is surging, the sound speeds up and slows down almost like I'm surging the throttle ever so slightly. The Rpm's move a tiny bit but fuel pressure and everything else is steady. I do believe it is definitly engine related. maybe injectors? pump? This is the only time it is noticable. Any input would be appreciated.

Very important...Does it go away when you push in the clutch? Do you have the vacumm front axle disconnect? And does it go away when you go any faster?

It only happens when throttling, I'll try clutch in the morning, I'm not sure about vacuum axle discon. I'll try faster speed tomorrow.
