Fuel solenoid bracket wrong size

My 98 has a smaller sized bracket (mounting hole distance is closer) so the new solenoid from Geno's wouldn't fit. Brandon from Geno's had never heard of this either. Anyone know where I can get the right size bracket.

My question is did you really need a new solenoid?
The solenoid is by far the most needlessly replaced item on a 12 valve.
The problem most always lies elsewhere unless the solenoid is very obviously burned up on the outside.
Often the wires will be melted too.
If you do indeed need the solenoid call or email Larry B at http://www.fostertruck.com and he'll set you up.

If you would have bought a solenoid from Dodge or Cummins it would have included the larger bracket.Another option is to buy from Peak diesel performance. They still sell the origional size.

I agree with you Infidel-this one failed (direct short-0 ohms)

Thanks Bob I didn't know about the two different sizes.
I've allready bought the solenoid with-out the bracket from Geno's.
I'll call Foster Truck, Cummins West (or lastly Dodge) to see if they can sell me just the bracket.

I called Larry at Foster Truck and he is sending me a bracket FREE.
I didn't even order the solenoid from them.
The dealer wanted $58 for one.
I'll post pics of the two sizes of solenoids to finish this thread up next week.

Larry and I go back a long way, he's one of the best guys I've ever met.
Actually it's his young daughters that run the parts business under his direction.
I try to send business his way even when it isn't the best price,
good to keep the good ones going.

Here's the rest of the story:

I called Friday and talked to someone other than Larry. He didn't know if they had any but said he would ask Larry to call me back on Monday.
And get this -He does! saying he looked around and found one. This is an item they don't stock. So not only did he scrounge around for a part he doesn't even sell, he calls me back from his personal cell phone and gives it to me free-scratch that -pays money to ship it to me and asks if getting it Thursday is soon enough!
And all this is to someone he does't know.
