Fuel Pressure changes?
Hi,
I installed a fuel pressure gauge in the cab as per this sites guide and well I replaced the OF Valve with the Tork's Adjustable one and notice that on initial start in the morning I have approx 30psi then later it goes to about 22psi. I have read about possible leaking from the fuel heater and have yet to delete it, could that be the issue or any other ideas? How to check the main pump?
Still the psi is way more than the 4 psi I had before changing the OFV.

The pressure drop doesn't indicate a leak.
Usually when the FP drops after warm up it's due to the OFV spring getting weak and affected by temperature.
Hate to think the new OFV is bad but lesser things have happened.
Try the pinching off the return line test explained here> http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1996/14-07-96.htm

Thanks for the input Infidel, I know about the pinch test as that was how I found out the OFV was shot. Today it was around 24psi then dropped to about 20 then when I go over 2000 rpm it jumps to about 25psi. I think I can live with it know and I can monitor it daily now too.
I took a recent 2000kl road trip with 4-6psi only. I geuss I was lucky to have made it as it was through the Rockies in Winter.
4 wheel drive was needed more than once, it would have cost a fortune to break down then.....
Feel better knowing I have fp in the park now. Koodos to this forum for all the things to know about these trucks. I am liking my old 97 but wish the brakes and steering were like the newer 3rd gens. I don't have the time to do the swaps that I have read here on it. O_well she runs strong.
Cheers..........
