Fuel filter housing/mount

I got a bunch of FS1253 filters from a friend and was wondering about converting my 97 to use this style of filter; I've always had a problem with changing the canister type and prefer the spin-on the 96 has. I have an extra 96 filter housing and was wondering if it will fit on the 97 (mounting bolt and fuel banjo bolt patterns). Also, are there any differences in the micron rating of the two filters? I know Geno's sells a relocating kit which uses the 1253 filter on the 97's. I do blend WMO with my fuel but it is mixed and filtered in a transfer tank and never goes over 10% WMO.

My truck had the Prime Loc relocator kit already on it when I bought it so I don't have experience with the cannister type filters. I can tell you that the fuel filter is very easy to change with this. I changed mine last night in about 10 minutes.

I use the Baldwin filter housing and spin on 2micron rated filters. Super easy and only $99 for the setup. Although I have a 99, I kept the factory filter and housing for the water separation function.
