Drone/Throbbing @ 15-1800 rpm
I had to remove the transmission (5sp) and after I put it back this drone or throbbing noise has started. I only hear it at 15-1800 rpm, around 63-68 mph. Higher engine speeds will start to mellow it out. If I push in the clutch and coast, holding rpm's, the noise continues and does not change much. I does drop some and picks up some when I let the clutch back out. As a result, I think it is in the engine not the "U" joints or transmission mounts. I could be wrong on this, I'm not sure. If I move my head to the center of the truck, the noise is all but gone, back over the steering wheel, my head gets stuffed with the noise. I removed the fan and fan clutch, no change. None of this was there before the transmission work, suddenly there it is, drives me nuts. Any ideas would help. Thanks.

DId you move the exhaust around or take a hanger off when you did the transmission and not get it back in the same place where it might be hitting frame or something. Sounds like the rpm range alot complain with exhaust drone. just a thought and something simple to check.
