Fuel Leak at Banjo Bolt on Fuel Filter Housing

Last night night I finally figured out where my MASSIVE fuel leak was coming from. It's on the banjo bolt that goes into the fuel filter from the LP. I couldn't find the exact washer with the rubber o-ring inside it so I used something similar except it was a little bigger but the o-ring fit snug around the bolt. I started it and it still drips pretty good. Are these washer/o-rings only availible at the Dodge house or the Cummins shop? The leak is so bad that on the back of my tail gate I have fuel splotches! My brother was driving behind me the other day and had to hang back because he was getting fuel all over his windsheild! Has anyone had problems with thes washers? Thanks in advance.

Eric

More often I've had problems with debris getting under the washer while the banjo is apart causing a leak. Sometimes this can damage the washer or seat and a new washer is necessary. Many times just wiping the debris off is enough.
Over-tightening a banjo doesn't really help it to seal any better and may make it worse, 18-20 ft/lbs is plenty.
Think you'll have a hard time finding the rings anywhere besides Cummins.

The closest Cummins place is about 105 miles from me. As much as I hate to go to the Dodge house, do you think they would have it? Thanks

Oh, ok cool. I didn't know there was one there. We'll have to meet up sometimes. I wanna ride in your truck and see what that smarty and the ecm can do! I've been considering it.

I use Castrol Super Clean, available at most autoparts. Just spray it on and let sit for a few minutes then hose it off. Since I started using it I rarely break out the pressure washer, no need.

From dodge they were $9.00 for 4 of them. I should have gone to Cummins. Probably a lot cheaper there.
