Can anyone tell me how to adjust the E-brake on my 3500?Its a 98. Is is a manual adjust on the cable running by the frame like on other vehicles? I havent had to time to crawl under and have a look but iI want to soon as it will not keep my truck from rolling anymore......any help appreciated..thanks.

e brake

Adjust your rear brakes up 1st the adjust the cable it is on the drivers side frame wheel ahead of the rear wheel, it's easy just tighten the nut up to where the brake holds good. The nut may be rusted on, then it's rather tuff good luck!

Before you tighten up the cable first determine that your rear shoes are adjusted and working correctly. Dodge service manual makes a big deal about it with all kinds of cautions and warnings. They say the only time the e-brake cable should need adjusting is if new brake parts have been added.

The self adjusters on these trucks are notorious for not working correctly. You might have loose shoes that will all the sudden adjust. If this happens and you have tightened the e-brake cable the shoes will drag.
