DUMB question about gas pedal

Ever since I soundproofed the interior and installed new carpet my gas pedal is harder to push to the floor because the carpet is getting in the way.

Now, is there any way to adjust the pedal up, because there is about 2-3 inches of upward pedal (how much pedal I can lift up easily before it hits the stop on the cable).

I have tried to mold the carpet in the spot, but it just isnt staying.

Try filling the tank with Diesel fuel, instead of gas - that should help, bunches.......................

What do you Texas boys call it then, a diesel pedal? YEAH, probably.

If you have a way to actually help me, then post, otherwise dont you have some cows to chase or heard or whatever it is you call that.

He was just joking. I honestly think it would be easier to just cut a little portion out of the carpet to allow movement of the pedal. Keep things stock and simple.

Accelerator pedal, throttle pedal, etc - loud pedal, go pedal also works - certainly not 'gas' pedal behind a Cummins turboDiesel, eh?

Can shorten the throttle (not gas) cable a bit - can use a spacer, or T&B stainless crimp works well - very difficult to remove accelerator\throttle pedal assembly, but you could also bend the arm up a little - just remove the knee panel below the steering column to better see what it's all about

I know he was joking. Just have to throw it back a little. I guess humor is different 1500 miles away.
Funny thing is my wife always says she needs to get gas in her Benz 300 turbo diesel, and I always tell her its fuel not gas. Just slipped my mind when I posted.
Thanks JD I was thinking a spacer or a cable crimp also.

Most "gas" stations sell diesel fuel (in my parts at least)
Are we supposed to start calling them fuel stations?
Can't really call them service stations anymore as they no longer perform any service.

Gas(oline) is a fuel, as is Diesel - usually the guy that keeps referring to Diesel fuel as gas winds up here in emergency mode wanting to know what to do after he's filled the fuel tank with gas - best to get in the Diesel mode and stay there, eh?

Rant over - time to go, now........think I heard a cow....................

I agree with wcbcruzer, I'd just trim the carpet and pad a little in that spot.
