batteries?

Seems fall is coming in, past 2 mornings it has been in the 40's here.
Truck turns over with alot less enthusiasm then normal. Batteries have probably 3-4 years on them. but with just this temp drop, should I be seeing it this obviously?

What kind of batteries are they? They ought to say if there are 3, 4 or 5 year batteries. My general rule of thumb is they won't last more than a year out of what they say they will. Having said that, if they go early, it'll be within the 3rd, 4th etc. year.

Check the output of them, and see if you are still where you are supposed to be. Also clean them off too. There may be corrosion on them because of the weather change.

I actually work at a batteries plus in california and optimas quality has gone way downhill in the last couple months.. i still see tons from 2003/2004 still goin strong yet the optimas were selling ever since they started mass producing them about a 6 months ago are crap. honestly every 6th or 7th optima i sell has been bad straight of the shelf lately. Not only that but ever since retailers started noticing the poor quality of them they started offering sales incentives. last month they paid me $10 dollars for every one i sold.

Optima has a cheaper line of batteries they sell in stores. They are foreign made! I have seen them side by side and they are different. The real Optima red top has 1000 CA and the cheapies I think is 910 or something like that. They also feel lighter holding them. If you want a REAL Optima...You need to find the Interstate truck Or an Interstate dealer to get the Real Deal! Trust Me, I know this to be fact!! Do not buy an Optima from a Chain store like Costco or something. Only the Interstate man has real Optimas and thats the only thing I will ever purchase!

you are correct sir,

u seem to know a lot so im not correcting you just adding to what u said.

costco sells "B" grade optimas which have a lower warrenty and fail often

as for the "A" grade ones(the ones we sell)...almost all have 1000ca(by the way the battery industry has set on using cca(cold cranking amps) but optima likes to use ca to show of since its higher)

like he said though... make sure u get it from a true interstate dealer and make sure u know how to get the warrenty because optima will warrenty almost anything so those are easy to get(unless u **** of the guy u talk to about the warrenty because its his decisicion whether u get a warrenty or not on optimas).
