normal operating temp

I blew the head gasket on my 98 12v and now after buying a new head and complete cooling system my engine temp has gone from before blow out 170-180 to 190-200. The dealer told me they installed a 190 degree thermostat. Something just doesn't seem right. Also my converter keeps coming in and out of lockup and seems to be searching for gears constantly when below 55mph. Any suggestions?

Oh! and all this work was performed by a 5 star Dodge Dealership

Mine will run right to the middle point of the guage, i think thats 180. soon as it sits there for a minute, the thermostat opens and it drops dramatically. then it will always repeat this. I was told its normal, so I never really looked any further into it.

Thanks for the reply smokeyram... I am back to square one this morning, I picked the truck up from Crown Dodge friday drove it some over the weekend and parked it, I decided to drive it to work this morning and when I parked I noticed antifreeze pouring on the ground. Now for the third time they have not fixed my head gasket issue. I have had my truck maybe 10 days total in the last 8 months. I started a case with DC this morning. 8 months and $5k
my truck is still not fixed
