I tried this, at the same time adding a few head studs, one at a time. I hope that you have better luck than I did, because it still leaks the same. I'll be pulling the head in June.

Sorry that it's the headgasket. If you want to put it off until a better time you might want to try something like steel seal. I've read it's great stuff, but I wouldn't use it as a permanent fix.

I had good luck with Bars Stop leak for getting the truck around. It works but its not permenent. You need any tips on changing the headgasket ask here first because there are some tricks that can save you time.

Goodluck,

Ok...it's confirmed. It's the head gasket. Seems like the corner. I wonder if I can just retorq the Head. I found the diagram as to the pattern, but no numbers. What do you guys think? Retorq? What are the foot pound req's?

I have had both the FP leak and the HG leak in the back.
With mine I did a line retorque + a little and it stopped for about 2 months then came back so.... try 120 and a little bit and see if it helps for a while but chances are its got to come apart for a new gasket

Rats!!

I was afraid of that. I did get 1/2 a turn on the head bolt above the leak...I'm not feeling very confident.

OK. Lets see.

1. Where to get the H gasket, norm, .10 over, .20 over??? Which one?
2. ARP head bolt/kits ......is it worth $496 from Summitt?
3. I have a guy that will be doing the work. He's awesome. He used to teach at the Tech schools. He knows alot about calibrating the P7100. Great guy.. Question....any other upgrades while we're there?

Tom
