Clutches SUCK!

Clutch Stuck
95 Dodge 3500
South Bend 13 1.25 con of
New Flywheel
Rebuilt 5spd from enterprise
4x4

Hey guys,
I just got everything done on the dodge. Fired it up and couldnt get it in gear . Just for refrence, i cut the truck off , put it in gear and fired it back up . The truck trys to pull with the clutch in, but with the breaks locked it slips for a min. then kills the truck . I never gave it any fuel, or let the clutch out. I was wondering what to do? Ive checked the slave cy. it appears to be okay. I hear movment in the bellhousing like a squeak when you push the clutch. I thought maybe it had rust welded to the flywheel , but if it was that, it would have come unstuck and been fine instead of slipping right? Theres some possibility that the Pressure Plate was over tightend, could this be the reason?
If it is, is there anyway of fixing it without taking it all back out?
If i cant, its going to the dodge place, im tired of messing with it?
How much will it cost me

Thanks for any help,
Lucas

Sounds to me like it's either rust welded or maybe your slave cylinder isn't pushing the clutch fork far enough. I'll fix it in trade for that TS 667 in your sig!

Check the bearing/bushing in the flywheel. Make sure the input shaft is not dragging.

Also, if you have a roached or slightly twisted input shaft, the clutch disk wont slide all the way down the shaft. I fought this one several times. I have twisted my sharre of input shafts on the 5 speed.

The clutch fork can get installed backwards I believe. check that. It cant be anything else.

disk is in backwards? some clutch disk have a raised portion that protrudes farther on one side than the other where the springs are this side has to face the pressure plate if not the springs usually hang up on the flywheel bolts

Sounds like at least two of your shifter forks are engaged at the same time . The tranny will at least have to be dropped down enough to get the top off.
If enterprise did all the work, to the tranny, they must have not gotten the forks seated right. Id call em and see if they are willing to help you out.

Pull the slave cyl out and make sure the plastic "end" that engages the shift fork is there ... just because the slave cylinder looks OK doesn't mean it is ... Could also be the master cyl .... I always replace them on a clutch job ....

You can replace the master and slave separately ... bleeding them is not a big deal ... PM me and I'll shoot you a price for the set ....

Sorry no reply too the first two messages ! Ive been pretty busy! I got the tranny from enterprise. Great price. Nice tranny! I got the clutch from piers. I'm looking at rickson truck accs. wheels, they look great and they have a cheaper alter. than alcoas and the polished. alum. ! Im thinking Mich. Low Pro . Ive got a buddy at a tire store that says mich. makes a great AT thats rough . Im even thinking of ... well ya'll will see , it'll be sweet As for the 667 , i just got it built , she swingin up above 850 Keeps the coax warm in the winter . Ive only got 250 in it, and 200 in work. Pushing with a 95 buck grant xl or a pres. grant both built. All off the great ole auction site!
hopefully the truck will be done on wed, or thurs. Ill let you know how it turns out. hope i havent made ne one mad, i wasnt trying to advertise, i was just answering a question! Sorry!

Hey guys,
Update on the clutch! Turns out the clutch was a bolt problem. .3 mm two short screwed everything up! Piers said south bend had been sending the right bolts with the kit for a while. But then stopped, Ive got two friends that both got bolts! Well, the regular bolts, (hich someone besides peter at southbend told me they would work) Strip the flywheel threads, They say that the SB Flywheel is a diffrent size, thread , everything. Been done today they think. Just wasnt pulling the PresPlate far enough because of the sholder ....Oh Well!

I'm going caddy colors this summer, thinking a pearl maybe a few inch drop comming up. Then its time for the new motor! Leather interior and sunroof
