Clutch or tranny?

I can't take the truck apart for at least few more days, but wanted to see what you guys think.

To fill you in, a few weeks ago the truck made a very loud thump when taking off at a stop sign. Instantly Took out the clutch hydraulics ( no resistance to put clutch peddle to floor). I thought at first it was either the center of the clutch ripping out, or maybe an input shaft.

But today when we moved the truck, by pulling it with another truck. It was left in gear ( wife didn't know) and I noticed the truck trying to hold back and making poping clanking sounds.

I then started the truck with it in gear, it lurches forward or reverse, less than half an inch but does move. It also has severe vibrations that shakes the whole truck.

What do you guys think? In the process right now of aquiring all the parts neccesary to get it back on the road. Just don't have the garage space to tear it apart.

If anyone has any ideas I'd be glad to hear what you think.

What does the clutch fork feel like when the hydraulics are off the truck? I think that ya broke something in there and it is putting preasure against the preasure plate causing it to be disengauged. The last tranny I tore the teeth out of wouldnt budge at all. Of course I tore all but 7 teeth off of the input and idler gears. Then again I cans see in my mind how a broken input shaft would also give the same symptoms that you describe.

I may pull out the slave cylinder and see if I can visually see something wrong.

I guess i'll just have to wait until I get garage space. To see how much damage It actually has. thanks.

When my clutch linkage failed I could still pump it up. If it was the linkage and you started it in gear it would go. I think you have ripped the center out of the clutch plate or broken the input shaft.

took off the pto covers today and everything looked great. Had very little goo on the magnet. Fluid was good and clean, and full.

Did some more test and the noise is inside the bellhousing, So its definetly the clutch and/or input shaft. Thanks guys.
