Question clutch engagement

I'm thinking of buying a 97duellie and was told it recently had a south bend con o clutch installed. I noticed on the test drive the clutch engagement was very near the top of the pedal travel. Is this normal for this clutch? Is there an adjustment that needs to be done?

The clutches on these trucks use a hydraulic linkage, so there's no adjustment. I've driven several manual trans trucks besides my own and all the clutches engage near the top, much higher than a properly adjusted mechanical clutch linkage. I'd say it's normal.

Yeah, all of the sticks that I have driven have a high engagement also. It is just because of the hydraulic clucth.

My dual disk clutch seems to engage a little faurther down the traven than the stock or other SBC clutches I have driven. As long as it hooks and does not slip its ok with me.
