Rebuilt the 47RH in the boss' truck for the third time. Guess what? It still won't kick down out of D. The t/c unlocks, but it won't kick down, unless you do it manually.
They've done pretty good for him on electronic transmissions but the hydraulic ones, they can't seem to get the valve body right. They also tell him it's impossible to swap in an electronically controlled transmission of any sort, and that a manual swap is more cost than it's worth.
I told the boss next time it goes out we are swapping in a ZF6. Ourselves.
They also told a friend of mine a 4-speed he had was not rebuildable, as the parts were not available. He stopped at another place on the way home on a whim and they told him to be there the next day and they had the parts on the shelf, and they knew exactly what parts he needed for the problem he described.

Yeah, they've done a 46RE, and a Ford minivan transmission, and got them perfect. They just can't get the valve body set right on the hydraulic transmissions. The boss' dad sent an old F150 to them and it does the same thing.
BG&S is supposed to be some great place. They aren't. Travis called to see about rebuilding a turbo 350, and it was almost 1500. He called Summit and had a new one at his door for 900. They want 1900 to do a factory rebuild on a gasser A518, without torque converter.
