Best Year for 12v?
I'm thinking about getting a 12v truck (no I ain't gettin rid of my 24v ;D) so I can sell my Ford and have an "old" truck to drive in crappy weather. Are there any years better than others for 12 valvers? While I'd like to get the newer body style, that might cost too much so I might be looking at something as old as 89.
Plus I wanna BOMD a 12v, I've heard so much about it. ;D

Thanks,
Chris

If you can afford it the years to shoot for are 97-98 simply because of the bigger pump. But I used to have a 93 and loved it as much as I do the 97. It all depends on what you are looking for.

Well the other requirements are 4x4 and manual tranny, as this will be a snow truck. I'm keeping wheel base and cab type open.

Chris

The engines didn't change between 96-98 in the 5 speed models. They are rated at 215HP.
The 98 12 valve truck is a sought after truck because it was the only year you could get a 12 valve in a Quad Cab truck. Everything prior only had a Club Cab with the single front doors.

Chris,
Try Farmville Motors in Farmville, NC - not too far away from you and they always seem to be selling CTDs of various years. You may have to look a while because I can't find a decent reasonably-priced Dodge (one I can afford with required options) anywhere in central/eastern NC. I even keep an eye out when I go to see my folks in SW Virginia but that area seems to be a Ford haven. Good luck. Remember, the search is half the fun........
