I was plowing the other day, deep fluffy snow. I had slammed into a few snowbanks and so on, I went to my next parking lot and the truck stalled when starting from a stop. Seemed like the torque converter was locking up at 5mph or the tranny was shifting up every gear before i could even get over 5mph. I had to manually shift into 2nd to keep the TC from locking up. After leaving the lot, the TC seemed to lock up randomly when it shouldn't have. When on the highway the speedo jumps around a little bit and the other day when leaving my driveway the speedo almost went in sync with my rpms. On the highway when i put on cruise, sometimes it works fine and other times it floors the accelerator to infinity, passing the set speed. I'm guessing i knocked some speed sensor out of wack? I thought it was just some snow but that was weeks ago. HELP?

 

Wow, You nailed it! I am having EXACTLY the same problems. Not that I was running into snow banks mind you, but the tranny is doing the same thing. 47RE on a '96.

Just had some work done on the transmission by a bunch of incompetents...now I'm trying to figure out what they did to screw it up. I was trying to adjust the TV linkage today but even though I thought I got the adjustment correct, the truck would, especcially under light throttle jump through the gears to OD and then lockup.
