does anyone know why my tranny doesnt shift into low when i downshift? when im doin about 60 mph, i take overdrive off and it downshifts fine. when im doin about 45, i downshift into 2nd gear and it shifts fine. when i downshift into low at about 25 mph it doesnt downshift, unless i use the brakes and slow down to about 10 mph, but by then it engages at 1100 rpm which isnt much for the truck to slow down on engine braking alone.

the truck is a 94 dodge 2500 4x4 automatic with 359xxx miles.

 

Not completely sure but that just might be your ECM protecting the trany from destroying itself?

Nope, the Rh is a hydraulic transmission. The govenor is preventing the down shift.

 

ultimately i would like to drop in a 6 speed so im just kinda waiting for the tranny to go out but im not going around trying to blow it up on purpose
