06 w/Electronic 4x4 Won't Engage 4 Low

I can not seem to get 4 low to engage; has anyone else had this problem with the electronic controls? The indicator light will just flash which according to the manual indicates it has not switched to the desired position. I have tried it several times with varying speeds from hardly rolling to app. 5 mph. I will be taking it in for 1st oil change so I think I will have the dealer look at it, along with the terrible AC, and hopefully the whitesmoke reflash to improve the lousy mileage (low 14's). Any advice on the 4x4 issue is appreciated.

Although they claim you can go to 4 low while under power, I would never do it.

Stop the truck, put the transmission in neutral.

Does the transfer case shift? If it now goes into 4 low it's probably OK.

If the lamp is still blinking I'd say there is something wrong with the transfer case or the shift motor.

BigDav160 I am going to try it static and see if that works. The darn manual states you should be rolling 2-3mph with tranny in N to avoid gear grinding and the optimal gear mesh. I dont know why I believe the manual, every other 4x4 I have had I always engaged 4low from a stand still.

My 06' electronic 4x4 works no problem. As previously stated I only engaged when fully stopped. I also do this on my older Jeep. 4hi is another matter.

At a stop mine will sometimes engage right a way, and sometimes not. Seems to depend on if the gears happened to stop in a lined up position.

If the truck is just barely rolling, it always pops in smoothly right away.

I would have opted out of the electronic transfer case myself (seems silly to have an electronic transfer case on a manual tranny truck) but at the time I ordered mine it came with the Laramie package...

slow roll works for me, I use it quite a bit while pulling the boat up the ramp.
