My 4 HI will no Engage but 4 Low will engage?????? HELP

At the same time the 4x4 light does not go on anymore while I put it in 4 hi, which dfoes not engage but 4 Low works!!!! But still no 4x4 instrument light on either setting, has anyone had this before or think of what this could be, I am not a mecanic but the linkage seems like it is working and I only have 65,000 miles on it! Of course this happened right after I took it in for the lift pump replacement! Thanks!!!!

 

What year is your truck? It sounds like the front end may not be locking in.

 

its a 2001 with only 65,000 miles on it.

 

Would love to get to the HP you have running in your truck, someday in a year or so I hope!

I think you knocked one of the vacuum lines off. There is a bunch of them behind the intake horn on the firewall. Trace them down to the front end and the t-case.


Some have old weathered plugs at the end that are prone to leaking.
