4500 or 5600
I am planning on doing a swap from an automatic to a nv4500. What I was wondering was if it would be just as easy to swap in a 5600 out of a second gen. truck? Anyone have info on this?
I would stick with a 4500 because of cost to rebuild, parts availability and with a tuned cummins, is plenty of gear for all your needs. 5600 is a little better towing stock to stock, but i think the 4500 shifts way better than the 5600.
I'm thinking of doing this swap also, I'd like to know which year(s) 4500's to get...what are the most desireble NV4500's??? anyone know?
That's the only difference, the rest of the tranny is the same.
I was told that the 97 factory adaptor is the same for autos and manuals is this right ? I just read some were that they were different on the newer 3rd gens.Anyone know what year was the last for a speedo drive on the transfercase and what transfer case model it was?
