`96 4500-5600 Conversion Pictures

These are only the first half on the process. These pics go all the way up until the new tranny is almost reading to raise into the truck. I would just like to let everyone know that doing 4500-5600 conversion in your driveway is not the easiet way to do it by any means. But definately the cheapest. Here's the truck with the 4500 on day one right before I got started.

Here's the life of the project. The husky air compressor. That's the NV5600 painted red... that's a TH350 in the grey and that's a 496 stroker big block on the stand.

Here's the transfercase after I got it out from the truck and pressure washed. Put new seals in it and painted it.

Re:4500-5600 Conversion Pictures

This is one of the things that got messed up with the old clutch. The shift fork had a huge ridge worn into it from the pressure plate. I welded the ride back up and ground it back down.

Re:4500-5600 Conversion Pictures

You do not even want to know how I shoe horned the NV5600 underneath the frame rails of the truck. Yeah, You think that one could just jack the truck up and slide the 400lbs tranny under... ha ha! It was an act of god.

Looks like you're doing an awesome job there, Super. I envy what you guys can do with a wrench! Unfortunately, I'm not &quot;my own warranty station&quot;. Brakes are about as far as I go. Keep the pix flowing. That looks like one ***** of a tranny!<br>-Tom-

Re:`96 4500-5600 Conversion Pictures

I notice that you have all the proper supervision ;D Good luck with the installation. I wonder if you checked to see about having your flywheel redrilled for the stock clutch instead of using the 12 1/4?
