12v 24v head swap

I've heard about guys swapping there 12v head to a 24v head, because the 24 flows much better. What all is involved in doing this? Eventually head work is on my checklist, so this is got me curios.

New head , 24v pistons, custom injectors. custom injector lines. Probably everything else will work back.

Wouldn't you call that a P-pumped 24v ?
Interested in the answers .

yes it would end up being a p-pumped 24v. the big issue i keep hearing about them is the timing and pop off pressure for the injectors.

The 12v bowls are not going to be best suited for the 24v injector placement..... Also don't believe all you hear about airflow between the 12v and 24v heads. Personally I like the larger 8mm valvestems on the 12v, seen too many 24v valves break!

The 24v head will work, not the best injector position for the installed pistons though. As for the pushrods, 24v engines only have 12 pushrods. They use a small bridge across the valves to open both at they same time.

Runs good. I want to stud my head before I turn up the boost too far. At half throttle its at 45psi. Beyond half, its still at 45 psi, but smoking. Theres a lot of fuel coming out.

The 24v head will work for a little while until the pistons crack from the inj spray outside the bowl in the 12v pistons it will also wash the oil from the cyl walls.
