Stacks with camper top/ Any ideas?
This is just blue-skying, but it keeps nagging at me. My truck has a camper top that I need, but I keep trying to see a way to put a single stack on it somewhere and thought someone might have an idea. Here are mine:

1) Run stack up through bed as normal and through camper top roof. Obvious, but do have problem of warming up bed and sealing camper top around stack. Not really a consideration.

2) Run it up the outside of the truck and try not to wipe it off. Figure this ain't the way either.

3) Recess it into the side of the bed and camper to so it's out of the way. This I like; would be different and I think it would look cool. Problem is cutting out the sheet metal, welding in new curved pieces to fit around stack, and ditto for the camper top, except that's fiberglass work. I can do this sort of stuff, but heck if I'm gonna put that kind of time into a work truck; probably wouldn't help resale much either.

So, what else ya'll got? (Straight pipe up through hood rejected already too).

Give me something simple and slick and I'll build it and take a pretty picture.

Rob

Straight pipe straight out the rear of your truck like a normal one with a 90 degree turn at the end straight up!

Why do you want stacks so bad I built a really nice set of duals for mine out the back with 5" tips!

Re:Stacks with camper top/ Any ideas?
There is a truck nearby that I've seen that's pretty neat. He's got stuff in his bed also, and he cut holes in the bottom sides of his fender skirt just behind his cab and ran them out and up on the outside of the truck. They are just straight 5 inch pipe. The truck isn't overly loud, so I'm assuming he's got some sort of muffler system underneath.(I haven't been able to talk to him yet, cause I've only seen it driving down the street) It sounds like it would look stupid, but I was impressed on the looks of it. It is on a dually, so that probably helps the looks. As far as you worrying about wiping them off, don't be too worried. When I first got my dually, I thoght the same thing about those big honkin fenders sticking out. They aren't gonna last long! One way to look at it is, if you've still got your mirrors, your stacks will be ok. There, now you've got my 2 cents too!!!
