no power to solenoid

Ok , I have determined I have no power to solenoid (small wire ) when I try to start . How do I check the clutch safety switch and the ignition switch ? Fuses and relay are all good . I can jump starter with a screwdriver and truck will start .Anyone know how ?

I know you can unplug the safety switch and jump the 2 wires together and see if it will start. Cruise control will not work with the switch jumped out but everything else will. The switch is under the dash on the clutch rod right up against the firewall.

As I mentioned before interchange the starter relay with one of the other relays, you haven't said you tried that. Starter relay in PDC under hood.

It turns out that it was a faulty fuse . Looked good but failed ohms test . New fuse in , everything works . Hard lesson to learn .

Many of us have had to learn that one.

Glad all is well, and interestingly enough, don't be shocked if you forget that lesson at least a couple more times.

I think I am up to about 3 now.......
