ext cab short bed worth anything?
I found a dodge ext cab short bed with ctd intercooled 2wd has a 92-93 grill in it supposedly runs and drives fine and the truck is pretty straight looking but will definitely need paint, bumpers, tailgate and the interior is pretty rough doors sag, seats are crap, etc
Question: Is it worth anything extra being a short bed? and is there anything I need to look out for to make sure it was swapped out the right way or wrong way

Clubcab short box trucks never came with a cummins, so if it's not rusty, and it's just cosmetics, and If you can get it for a good price then for sure I'd pick it up. Has the swap been done right...well that is a subjective question. Depends on how "correct" you expect things to be.
It's a pretty easy swap to just drop a 12V and tranny into a truck....it's the other systems and components that need the upgrading. Did they upgrade the suspension, front and rear, to 8 bolt? How much of the donor truck was used...wiring etc?

Listen to thrashing cows!!! I bought a pieced together truck, Not knowing what I was buying. Basically everything from engine down had to be re-built,re-done and remounted....

When I first bought my crewcab it had the 89 cummins and a NV4500 installed....great I thought, the hard work is done. I spent the next 6 months fixing the slapped together work so that I at least felt safe driving it.

I crawled under the truck today and it looks like it was a single cab long bed and they put on an older model ext cab and short bed it does not look like the axle was moved and the frame had been trimmed off a little on the back not all the cab mounts were lined up I drove it down the hwy a mile or so and the trans shifts kinda spongy and some slack in the steering but other wise seemed fine
but then he pulled out the title and the place he got it from wrote salvage for parts only in big letters across the title and he has never paid to get the title in his name BUT the good news is he only wants 1300 for it and said we can meet at the tag office and he will pay to get the title straight and then I can pay him I guess for that kind of money I can just use the parts on my other 2 trucks and sell the rest or just take it with the title as is and maybe get it even cheaper

They're getting a bit harder to find. 'bout a year ago i spotted a D350 in the country advertized as a farm beater parts truck for $2500. I paid $1500 cash for it, put a 3' piece of 4" RV sealer tape on the roof in front of the clearance lights to keep the rain out, and have been hauling dirt and firewood with it since. It actually runs slightly better than the one I have close to ten grand invested in, just ain't as pretty.

I gave up looking. Texas probably has a lot more of them, but I still don't see how you can go wrong.
