Arrow Silencer removed.

This is just another thread about removing the silencer ring on the turbo, sorry, after 2 years I finally got bored and spent the 5 minutes it takes to remove. For those who havent done it yet, the whistle is not as bad as I thought it would be, I really only noticed it when the turbo gets to 10lbs. I am sure it will disapear when I change the exhaust.

Oh well, if your new here and didnt know about it, you can search the forum for more info.

Most people can not hear the whistle until they remove the baffles from their intake tube then it will singggggggggggg.

Or get a after market intake.

I personally love the sound of a turbo. My intake showed up today so I'll be removing the silencer and putting in the new intake and I hope I can hear it because right now I don't hear anything from the turbo when I'm driving. I used to have a twin turbo Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 and loved the turbo whine on it.

Do you go through the Wheel well for access to the turbo/silencer ring or go from the top? They didn't put my wormgear clamp screw heads in the best spot for access it appears.

Ive had my truck less than 2 weeks and removed the ring right away. Didnt notice much difference. Today my muffler delete pipe and S&b intake showed up so will be putting them on late tonight. Also have a Prodigy to mount and a Foxbox w/2 10's to install. Wish my leveling spacers would show up.

I see a lot of 5-10 to remove it, are you not removing the airbox and such?

Is it 5 minutes once everything is removed and out of the way?

Took me 5-10, I just removed the intake tube from the airbox and the turbo and there she was. A small tipped flat screwdriver and the retainer clip was out and the ring right behind it. SUPER simple!!!
