right track for more HP???
i have a '99 dodge 1 ton. all its currently got is an edge comp box and straight exhaust pipe. im wanting more HP. i use the truck for "sunday drives" and to pull my race truck to the track on weekends. i want to blow the doors off of all the kids in town that think their diesel is a top fuel dragster haha! ive spoke with the guys at Shied Diesel (anyone know if they have good stuff?). im looking to get: FAAS lift pump system, 150hp injectors, aftermarket exhaust manifold, ATS intake, and a Lightning turbo says 30 - 50psi boost capable of 550hp with a 57mm compressor wheel. will all of this work good with my comp box? am i on the right track for great HP, but not too much for pulling a car hauler? will i be pleased with the results of all these upgrades considering the cost?? any better (cheaper) ideas?? thanks guys, im new here and new to the hot rod diesel stuff.

Skip the exhaust manifold and intake horn. You really won't see much gain. I have no idea on the specs on Schied's turbos. If you want it all, look for twins. Use the stock turbo and a $600 S475 and build a budget set. You can go more extravagant yet, depends all on how much you want to spend. Look at either retorqueing your head bolts, or buying some head studs. O-rings are another good idea. You can do it either before something happens, or wait till the gasket pops and fix it with an o-ringed head.

what are you calling "o-rings" ? i know what an o-ring is, just not sure on the application your'e reffering to. i think i am going to go with ARP head studs, and a Aurora 5000 turbo. i may do this o-ring thing if i knew what you meant. thanks for your reply.

A fire ring job usually has both the head and block machined (but not always) for a receiver groove, usually about 0.100" wide. The fire ring in the head gasket is cut out, and individual fire rings will be placed in each groove. The head gasket it self only seals the oil and coolant passages. The new fire rings only seal the combustion chambers. No idea on price on these.
