March 2020 break room

Welp, looks like I've been volunteered to start the March break room.
Haven't seen it this bad in over 10 years, and this is worse. Winter does not want to let us go. Got buried last weekend. We are still digging out. Now we are going to be hit again starting late tomorrow. Even if I could find a bucket loader of some kind to rent or hire (which I can't), I have no place to put all the snow unless I can have it hauled away. Everything is booked up and there is a waiting line.

9° and windy. It will warm up some as the next storm moves in for this evening. Supposed to last 4 days, but not drop a lot of snow. It's the one after that that has me worried.
Hope everyone out in the tornado path is all right.

Wow, a semblance of a break room. Sad to see what has happened. We used to have fun together.
Been bombed with work and "stuff" trying to bring a conclusion to the remodeling job on the office building.
Amazing how these jobs can go up and up in cost after the building inspectors walk in and start knit picking.
Sure be glad when it is done and my tenant is all done with his decorating and is happy. Neat guy - - just want him set
to grow his business.

Weather was cold and windy today. High was only 68. Bummer.
Hey, the blonde is calling for dinner. Better go. L8R.

Hello broken room attendees.

Warden wanted to visit a South NJ horse rescue as she's going through some midlife horse crisis. Apparently living with a jackass for the last 30 years isn't good enough😳

So we visited this 33 acre rescue, and spent a few hours talking with the horse lady who runs the place. Buildings falling down, fences in disrepair, horses in mud. Sad state of affairs. Horse lady has been I'll with kidney issues, and can't do all she used to. Volunteers help a lot, but they could use a carpenter to do a lot that's needed. Shoestring budget and distance from my home won't have me there, unfortunately.

It was fun walking around in horse crap, listening to the horror stories of race horses being saved from dog food plants,. The chickens and guinea hens, dogs, cats sand any, other excrement we were stomping in was fun to get off my work boots.

Interesting and sad at the same time.

Nice roof!

Hirse lady and happy horses

Sad horse, but happy now. Over 40 years old

KKKKKKKold and clear. -12°, -30° with the wind chill. Our big winter storm stayed further North and we only got a few flakes. Booked ahead for a skid steer on Friday to move snow. IT was the only thing I could get. Also supposed to be in the upper 20's Friday. There is a panic buying going on up here, the store shelves are empty. Not sure why, there are two different stories. Both I believe to be politically motivated. Things at work continue to deteriorate. Unskilled, untrained, and inexperienced personnel continue to make big blunders.

Amazing the difference a few hundred miles south can do,for weather. Look at my trees! This isn't normal, for,March weather.

Impulse buying? Yeah it's crazy stupid here too. Idiots losing their minds fighting over buying toilet paper and bottled water. Media is fueling it, no doubt. They have armed guards in front of the bottled water isle, rationing what people take, as they were fighting over it all.

No common sense, or thinking for yourself anymore.

Hope it doesn't suddenly turn cold again or you will wind up with a lot of dead trees.
-11° heading to 24°, maybe. Another clear day in paradise.

30F and lightly flurrying up here today. We did have a warm 60F Monday to start melting some of the snow.

I have been getting a little extra time to work on my Cummins build projects in the shop as people freak out over TP and such. Work has been a little slow with everybody tuned into their I-phone constantly for the latest "news".

The dogs and I are off to stoke up the wood stove and get some work done in the shop.

Since there seems to be some activity here, I brought along a half dozen apple fritters for the ones brave enough to venture into the break room.

Grabbing a day old fritter before stoking the stove.
It is almost 40F with gusty winds and rain showers.

8° heading to 31° maybe. Hit 30° yesterday. Scrapped some of the snow off the north side of the roof. Difficult, it was frozen and compacted together. Plus I had no where to stand. The skid loader is supposed to come this morning. Now try to figure out how to herd all this snow to where I want it. The wife went shopping yesterday and came home almost empty handed. She said the parking lots where full and the isles where empty.

Good morning folks. Found half a fritter on the counter, and it tasted yucky. Must have been the bugs inside. Oh well, good protein source

So, the world is coming to an end soon. We all know why, and this isn't the place to get into it. Just wishing all of you the best while I sit here and watch my wife lose her mind.

Rainy weather, no one allowed out of their homes after 8 PM, or before 5am, or so it's suggested. Who knows ? Who cares at this point?

Thanks folks for engineering this.

See ya !

so this Wuhan Flu is only contagious between 8pm and 5am that makes no sense. Well WV still up to this point has no cases of this stuff, some are joking saying where were grew up playing in the dirt down stream from the cows and our basically unhealthy life style according to Governor Jim ,I'm fat lazy and don't pay my property taxes, Justice has saved us from this stuff.

I'm getting off here and I'm going out on my sxs into the woods to do my social distancing.
Be careful save your TP and have fun

Snowed last night. 28° heading toward 40°,,, maybe. Which means thaw. Back below freezing tonight. Lather, rise, repeat. Moved a lot of snow Friday.

Alaska has been pretty much isolated. Canadian boarder closed. Much of our resources and supply routs closed. The Governor has ordered the closure of many businesses putting many people out of work. No grocery stores yet, but there is nothing left on the shelves and little hope to restock. Fuel prices have come down though.
At work, they are sending people home without pay (hopefully they have enough personal leave) that passed through Seattle along with those that work with them and are requiring them to be tested for "the virus". Their security guard at the door didn't last long.

Exactly, This entire episode makes no sense.

They shut down the economy, killed all local restaurants, gyms and such, stopped the education system in its tracks... for what ? A flu virus that hasn't killed anyone ? The regular flu since october has killed over 25,000 people, yet nothing was ever done like this in the past.

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden...-estimates.htm

This is a freaking power grab, and it's designed for two purposes: Kill the economy, and enact power measures over the people.

It's BS.

My neighbor brought home 125 rolls of TP on sunday. If I need to take a crap, I'm going on his front lawn, and not wiping. Then when he asks why I did such a horrific thing, I'll tell him it was because him and his wife hoarded all the Toilet paper, and I had no other options.
