1999 Dodge 2500 CTD is the application I used for the booster, and mastercylinder. There are mods that have to be made though. The original firewall mount is a tall "stand-off" type get-up. You need to remove it, and fab a flat plate. And the push-rod is 8-9" long. You need to cut and thread it. Which is what I am showing in the uder-the-dash pic. Also, that mastercylinder uses metric bubble-flares. You are on your own there LOL. I am still not sure how I am going to handle that.
OHH! I almost forgot. There is a diamond shaped adapter between the M/C and booster. And a few other parts inside there (push-rod, retainer, something else I think LOL) None of that stuff comes with either part when you go to the parts store. I was lucky to find a wrecked truck in a scrap-yard to pirate that stuff from, and the junk booster to use for a core.

It may be easier to adapt one from a Chevy Astro van.
It is the same hydro-boost unit with a pushrod that looks to be more easily adaptable. an older pre metric chevy master cylinder could be used. the flair nuts are odd ball for the tubing but Summit ,Jegs or Speedway sells them.

Moonshine has been being a very good boy. He is soo patient, waiting quietly for attention.
So, I bought him a new toy today!!
I have been winch shopping for quite some time. Well, if you consider watching craigslist for a deal "shopping".
I had 2 criteria to meet: 1. 12,000lb minimum 2. $500 maximum
I obviously wanted to buy the most heavy duty unit I could find, and when this old-school Ramsey worm-drive popped up meeting both my criteria, and it has never been used. Well, it didn't take me long to say "duh! I'm buying that!"
So, I bought him a new toy today!!

Nice, In MHO the worm drives are better than the planetary drives.
Heaver but less moving parts. And no brake to wear and fail.(always at 3:00am in the rain)
Looking forward to see what you come up with for a bumper.

I agree on worm vs. planet. All my buddies are bitchin' at me saying "worm winches are sloow" or "its huge" bla-bla-bla.
My take is: if I need to unspool that cable, the only thing I am worried about is whether the winch works or not, and will it finish the job. I don't care how long it takes.
Having some experience with Warn planetary winches, and plenty of time using a harbor-fright 12k jobbie (badlands). I will take this Ramsey over them any day! Even at full retail of $1350.00!! This thing is heavy duty, built like a tank. Left-over technology from the old-days. Sure the new stuff is nice. But if I mount this thing on the front of my truck. And all it is for 10yrs is a show piece. Then one day, I find myself in a pickle where I need it, chances of it doing the job over one of the new-fangled jobbies is preety dang high! And, that's all I am worried about.
I almost bought one of the Badlands 12k winches because I couldn't find a "good deal" on anything else. And I want to get started on my bumpers. Timing for this deal was spot-on! (I wont even tell you guys what I picked it up for LOL )

I personally would rather have a slow winch. It things go too fast and something goes a bit haywire there is less time to correct the problem.
I think that Is a re badged Pierce winch I have an old Desert Dynamics. That I Rebuilt with Pierce parts. Mine looks very much like yours.
Anyway Pierce builds Tow truck winches.

As for the front bumper? I am pretty much going to straight-up copy Eric Yate's front bumper of his truck "judge" as seen here:
I already got permission from him LOL, . He even donated his extra pair of frame mount plates to the build. I personally think he really nailed a very clean looking design that compliments the factory lines of the truck. As soon as I saw that bumper when he first debuted it, I was in love with it.

My opinion on "rounded corners and edges" (hey, I am a VERY opinionated guy! LOL)
For one-off stuff, that means grinding the welds. That is a pretty big no-no in my book. It always bugs the dookie out of me when I see something fabbed up, and then all the outside corners are ground to have a radius on them. That means the material left behind at the apex of the radius is paper-thin.
I understand, some welds need ground for aesthetics. But, I (personally) will never grind a weld if I think it could possibly compromise strength.

I totally agree with what you saying. our local shop can roll corner rounds with there brake up to 3/16 thick metal. that way there is not but welds on the corners. they look similar to how the buckstop bumpers edges look.
