Warranty Honored! Thanks Goerend Brothers Transmissions

I had Dave install a tranny & 3D TC in my '99 Dodge in March of 06. Well, it went out just a few days ago and I looked for the paper work and sure enough I had 95,000 miles on a 100,000 mile warranty!

I called Dave & company and they are sending a new unit to my tranny shop in Lincoln, NE. I pay shipping and install and they send me a new tranny & TC. Not bad.

Thanks Dave Goerend! I appreciate business men that stand behind their warranty without having to get all worked up about it.

I'm not sure what happened but the filter clogged up with clutch material and metal and it (obviously) would not shift. No warning, no sysmptions, no heavy hauling or racing, just a daily driver now.

Thanks for the post. Nice to see companies standing behind their product and nice to see people give credit where its due.

Like I said, I'll post the results of what happened to mine. I've been good about servicing it, and it has been running just fine, just like the day it was installed.

I've been having problems when I put it in gear the engine stalls, but that started right after I installed a new VP-44 and I think it is IP related, not tranny related. I dunno.

Myself, I would be very happy to get off with shipping and installation after 4 years and 95k miles. He is actually warrantying normal wear-and-tear and I wouldn't consider it a product failure. To me If it failed within the first year, then that is a manufacture defect and everything should be covered (unless there is abuse). Sounds like exceptional service here.

Dave has no way to control where I live so I was just happy to have the tranny & TC replaced. Paying for the install & shipping seems a reasonable contribution on my part.

This still seems kind of short lived for such an expensive transmission especially if you are just driving it normally.

3 year/100,000 mile limited warranty.

March of 06
Isn't this transmission 1 year out of warranty?
I would be estatic to only pay shipping and installation.

Can you give us an idea of about how much the shipping and installation cost and what is the distance you live from his shop, like if I had to ship it back from California?

Also with this new transmission was the warranty considered fulfilled with no remaining time transfered to the new transmission?

Was there any warranty on this new transmission or were you able to purchase one?

Do all of the Goerend torque converters have a lifetime warranty on them, or only on the on triple-disc converters?

Jim

Jim Lane,

Why not just call Dave your self that way you get your Questions answered directly from Dave instead of through a third party........

I know Dave is a very busy person but I'm surprised you got that reply from someone who works for Dave. FYI you can find this info on the Goerend.com website under the parts price sheet link: Triple Disc Torque Converter Limited Lifetime Warranty $1295.00, Triple Disc Torque Converter 100,000 Mile Warranty $1050.00.

Wow Geico! I remember reading the thread about your decision to go with Goerend back then.

I think shipping and install is not a bad price to pay especially if you can do the work yourself.
