Thumbs up Goerend Brothers TQ & VB installed

I arrived at Goerend Brothers tranny shop in St lucas Iowa last thursday around 5:30 am to have my VB & TB installed.Dave (owner)was already in his shop hard at work,he came out to greet us and took my truck for a spin to see how she shifted before the install. When we got back from our ride he offered us his small house to stay in next to his shop and the use of his chevy suburban while we were there,I was very thankful after a 9.5 hour trip to get some shut eye, what a great guy IMHO Dave had my truck ready that same day at 5:00 pm and explained everything he had done to my truck step by step,he also gave me his cell and home phone numbers in case I had any problems going back to Michigan that night. My truck seems like a different truck now,it shifts alot smoother and is a joy to drive. Many thanks to Goerend bothers, this kind of service it very hard to find these days.coobie

Glad to hear you like it. I've been thinking about doing the same thing with Dave but with a totally built tranny. The only thing that's stopping me is getting the time to make the trip out there to do it...

Talked to Dave about flexplate and billet input shaft for my truck also,I explained to him what I did with my truck and he told me all that was needed was the VB & TQ.I like his honesty,he will not sell you something you do not need.coobie

Well, Willy91, looking at the numbers your truck makes (WOW!...btw) I guess your happy with the full billet Goerend setup. Those numbers are astounding, to say the least...

It's nice to know that I have a tranny & TC ready to take what ever I can dish out. I did a 12PSI boost launch for the first time and the rear wheels spun like I have never seen before. Smarty was only on 6.

At least you have what you need.... I haven't even made up my mind what I want to do AND I don't know how I'm gonna pay for it.....
I'm actually having dreams about torque convertors.... and getting a trans installed and having nothing but problems and down time ...

Have any of you ran your truck for a while w/ a built tranny pretty much stock (engine wise)? I would like to do the tranny up before I start adding boxes & what not. I'm not looking to push high high HP numbers, mabe in the 500 range or so. Does a tranny w/ a VB, TQ and mabe input shafts make the truck wake up on a stock engine?
