Got a few questions for you guys: Just orderd new trans from Dave with his tripple disk. My buddies and I will be putting it in this weekend and was wondering....
1. is any certain order/differences in bolts that attach the torque converter. 2. what is the easyiest way to flush the trans cooler and lines.
3. I also forgot to ask dave what kind of fluid he reccomends or what have yall had good luck with?
4 Also is there anything else to pay special attention to
5 Break in period?

i can't help you with those questions as i am a manual guy, but where you at in NC i am doin a 6 speed conversion this weekend or next maybe we could help each other out.

1) the six converter bolts are all the same. The new converter may or may not require bolts that are different from what the old converter used. If so, they should be furnished with the new converter.

2) when I flush a cooler and lines, I use a small pump that is powered by an electric drill. I flush it backwards and forwards for several minutes (making sure that if there's a check valve in the line it's removed) using several quarts of varsol. After that I pump in a couple quarts of ATF to rinse out the varsol.

Another piece of advice: I learned long ago to install all six converter bolts not quite tight (loose enough so the converter can move slightly on the flexplate). After all six bolts are in, go around again and tighten them all. I found that if you tighten each one as you install it you may get a hole that's off center just enough to prevent a bolt from starting. Then you have to go around and loosen them all to get all your bolts started.
