Lightbulb Stupid Question

My truck is an 03 has 4:10 gears and the 6 spd. manuel. My question is, if i want to get off the line quick at a light or something can i stick it in 3rd gear with the clutch in, rev the engine up to 3 grand and just let the clutch out when the light turns green with out tearing up the clutch or transmission? or is that a ? Thanks .. .

If you really have to ask................................ sorry, just can't bring myself to offer a nice comment. You are gonna tear stuff up. Period.

Doing that I would think you stand a good chance of "welding" the clutch.

You might want to try a slightly boosted launch, rev up a little RPM, maybe 1200 or so and immediatly after launch nail the skinny pedal. Try this on your own somewhere and maybe you can set some type of procedure that works for you but as above a full power will quickly remove your clutch and porobably break something more serious. If you break loose the tires too much you can not control the truck very well.

Three is more to it than what I ahve above but if you don't try you won't know.....

Only do it if your can afford large repair bills and want to spend your money that way. It's alot of stress and stress causes wear and damage.

you can get a SB DD and do it, it will take a toll on it though. sounds almost to me like the guy in the video had an auto, but then at the end, he revs the motor, so i dont know?

sounded like an auto to me as well. He could have put in a built tranny with a high stall TC to get it so he could pop the throttle like that and not get her to move at all.

in my stick truck it would actually spin so if you get traction you might be ok but it will be hard on stuff for sure. I dont think its a stupid question.

Could have been white smoke from the clutch but I think that was an auto too
