Stock turbo

Im building about 50 lbs of boost on the interstate with my stock turbo. Is this normal? My edge says im building average 39.2 lbs. Max 51.2 lbs. In all this i have terrible lag especailly when im towing. I tow small equipment around and im running everything on the recommended towing setting.

Thats kinda odd that your pushing that much boost. I wouldn't recommend it. 50psi can be hard on a stock head gasket.

Check the play of your turbo, side to side and front to back. I'm guessing your turbo has seen better days.

Ok i did that, and it didnt help much. I took her out for a spin on a long backroad real quick building around 35 lbs. and when i got on the main road, lag! Could it be the gasket?

Could the APPs be the problem? I have not had this problem but have read people stating they have a DEAD pedal.. Could that be a way to define what is happening to you?

Well kinda, When i step on the pedal i get response and alot of it. When i let my foot off the pedal i have a ton of lag mostly when i run on my highest power setting or im towing.

Sounds like you are barking the Turbo.. When you have boost high you do not want to let off quickly or the boost has no where to go but backwards where it came from. I have never seen anyone hurt a turbo from this but have been told it is possible.

Lag is when you step on the accelerator and it takes X-seconds before the truck makes boost and takes off.. Lag=delay

More fuel.. More boost.. More barking...
Would be my guess...

You do not have lag from letting off the throttle.
I will guarantee that...
