Since i got my bully dog triple dog i have been putting out BIG time horse and torque. I am getting slipping in my clutch in 4th-6th when i hammer down. I need to know from you guys what clutch would be good for me so i dont get slipping. Double disc??? Will i have to rebuild the whole tranny or just throw new discs in. Let me know your ideas thanks

DD's are mainly used for slead pulling, or extreeme drag racing. It all depends on what level HP youe goal is. If you plan on stopping where you currently are a typical heavy duty clutch will do the job. Give Southbend Clutch a call or go to their site.

Also try using the Search feature since this has been disscussed many times before and you probably wont get as many replies due the the fact the regulars get tired of answering the same questions. I am also in the market for a new clutch and have spent the time searching old threads and have all the info I need. The only thing missing is an actual ride along.

Good Luck
Dan

I put the biggest single disc clutch in my truck that southbend makes, I really like it. its ratings are 550rwhp and 1100rwtq. Its easier to push than a stock clutch i think too.

I'm looking at clutches myself. How's the release on it? I've heard it can be harsh. Especially backing in a heavy trailer.

I am looking at the FE or OFE myself. But the tst site says FE not recomended for pulling livestock. I can't live with that, I assume it must be pretty harsh on engagement?

I dont doubt the clutch would hold up fine, but I was curious how it was with a trailer especially backin up.
