radiator questions???

I am not sure which forum this should be posted under. It could fit in about 3 of them so forgive me if it is in the wrong one. My brother has a 1996 12v ctd with about 250k on it. It is stock other than a very mild fuel plate change on it. His radiator is coming apart and he needs to replace it with a better flowing one since his is shot anyway. What is the best alternative for a new radiator. Is their any performance shops or manufacturers that make a easy bolt up radiator that needs little or no mods for installation? Thanks in advance.

the radiators were overkill in these trucks. one from your local radiator shop or autoparts store should be fine.

Why does he need a higher performance one?

I got mine locally up in Mass, it was in the $2xx range I think it's been a while. If you get a replacement for your truck, you shouldn't need to modify anything.

in most larger towns there will be a wholesale radiator specialist.
these are the folks you want to deal with. pricing most cases will be 50% less than retail. quality has always been top notch on radiators I've used. may have minor differences from OEM, but not enough to be a concern.

I don't know where he got the info but someone had told him when you start turning up the horsepower on the truck you may want to increase flow of coolant to the cummins... Since he changed the fuel plate and needs a new rad anyway, he was thinking of getting a bigger one or something with more flow.
